Twenty Nineteen

Holy smokes that was something eh? 2019 has just flown by and here I am again, trying to come up with the words to sum it all up. 27 Weddings, heaps of Adventures, the best family shoots. Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridge, Essex, Cornwall, Devon, Cheshire. The seaside, the city, the BIG city and more. It’s been crackers! I dunno let’s start with the family then we’ll get onto weddings.

Twenty Nineteen revisited

So, my favourite little human is well in the swing of things at nursery. He absolutely loves it there. Making friends, playing heaps of games and above all learning loads. I am, as always incredibly proud of him and hope he knows just how loved he is! Hoops is mischief personified and I’m so glad of it. My beautiful wife Stephanie has made such awesome leaps in her career. Taking on the world and getting all the props she deserves. She is the  reason all of this is possible and basically a fucking hero. Soppy as it is these two dafties are my ‘get up and go’ and the reason I do anything at all so I had to give them a little shout out!  Another year spent with my faves and wow am I grateful.

On the shitter side of things my family lost an absolute star this year, a real good dude.  A couragous, kind, powerhouse of life who is missed heaps. He used to dance a lot and at every wedding, I am reminded of his joyous spirit when Uptown Funk comes on as it inevitably does. Every wedding I remember him and I realise how precious our relationships are. This kinda leads me onto the weddings. These incredible events that mark such a key moment in our lives, well, they are something special. Something to be cherished. (Cliché I know sorry)

Wedding Photography with heart

When I shoot I dont shoot with too much in mind other than to capture whats going on in the best light with emotion packed into the frame. Things happen organically and I shoot them, only in hindsight do I see the true significance of my subjects relationships. The glances, the smiles, the laughter, the embraces, even the dancing, every little frame tells a story of human connection. It’s pretty cool really, important too. People come and people go and I’ve begun to realise the little box I carry can stop time, keeping moments and memories very much ‘here’.

Anyway I think what I’m getting at is that after this busy, busy year full of life, laughter, and loss I still think photos are magical and I think we all need to go out there and do stuff with heart. Live hard and enjoy the things you love in everyday life and especially at you wedding. When this awesome day rolls around soak it up and enjoy every crazy, wonderful second. Have that drink, eat all the food, jump in the pool, sing those songs and DANCE. I’m heading into 2020 with a full heart and a reinstated love of the moment. No more getting hung up on the technical, this year and beyond ima search for the reason to stop time.

Huge Thanks to you all!
