WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! 2018 IS HERE!!

I have been chomping at the bit to get going this year! Last year was such a buzz and I met so many amazing people and shot so many incredible weddings. I am mega excited to get my wedding on and what a way to kick things off. A nice spring wedding at the Norfolk Mead with Lisa and Phil. I have known Lisa and her family for years. We grew up together, partied together, got into trouble together and have remained good pals. So I was dead excited when she got in touch about her wedding. We arranged to catch up, I met Phil, her Polar Bear loving groom to be and we sorted out an ace engagement session at Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Check it here.

Lisa had chosen the stunning Norfolk Mead Hotel for her wedding. I smiled when she told me as we both worked there when we were younger and it’s in the village we grew up in. A really nice touch! I also knew she had booked Tom from Browns films and so met with him beforehand. We arrived together at the Mead and got to shooting some bridal/groom prep. For those not in the know, Tom is actually awesome at wedding films, check out his work here. The girls, having heaps of fun were full of smiles and laughter, getting made up by the ever wonderful Amanda Steed.

After a while, and with a surprise (a nice little something from Lisa to Phil) in hand, Tom and I went to see what the boys were up to. They were at a little BnB close by. We arrived at a scene of shirts undone, ties all over the shop and an iron hard at work. Standard Groom readiness. Once the boys were set, I handed over the surprise to Phil. A super cute scrapbook, full of their life together. The tears flowed and laughter rang around the house as Lisa had left Phil with a lasting message. I can’t repeat it but you’ll see it if you look hard enough. There was no let up for the emotion as Phil then presented his brother with a smart looking watch in a smart looking box. Tom and I made our way back to the Norfolk Mead to catch up with the girls and get set for the ceremony.

With everything set, the ceremony began. The Mead has an awesome room for ceremonies. It is lined one side with glass and so the groom and the crowd get to watch as the Bride and her party make their way to the ceremony. Vows read, formalities finished and with the weather closing in we grabbed some time for photos and then back in for food and speeches and dancing. The day was perfect and beautifully reflected the love Lisa and Phil have for each other. A real coming together of families and a hell of a way to kick off my 2018 season.
