Yes to this wedding!! Everything about it was brilliant! I met Aoife and Conor last year and the moment they started talking through their plans I had a smile on my face. Intimate City wedding, a stroll to a lovely garden, I forget the name of it and best of all, Guinness!! What a day! I started the day at the fab Barry Alan in Norwich. I met Aoife, her sister and her mum there, got some bridal prep in, then after a slight camera mishap* we all strolled over to The Georgian Townhouse.
*Aoife’s Mum needed a camera so the guys at Jessops saved us there!
Anyway! back to the GTH and my god the dress! WOW! Just the most sublime, light, delicate, floral masterpiece! You’ll see. Also the most beautiful Flowers by Little Norfolk Flower. Aoife and her sister were getting ready in the coooool room with an awesome little balcony that looked out onto the Roman Catholic Cathedral. An architectural gem! When Conor arrived they had planned to have a ‘first look’, something I HIGHLY recommend! On the subject of Conor and the groomsmen, I had a plan.
I left Aoife and went for a coffee. I know that doesn’t sound like much of a plan but it was. The coffee shop was on the way to a bridge over grapes hill, I grabbed the drink (and some cake) and waited on the bridge for Conor. He would have had to come under the bridge so I rang him and told him to take it slow as I had a shot in mind. Conor was in a topless white Cadillac and so, there was a cool shot there! I needn’t have called, the traffic was terrible so, there, a plan. I finished my coffee and went for some more shots on St Giles Street. Photos with Boys and their Toys over I wandered back to the TH for the first look and ceremony.
A tender, emotive first look was followed by a beautiful service in the stunning Pembroke suite and then the rains came. This was a blessing in disguise as the light in the Pembroke suite is awesome! A beautiful bay window and a deep blue room made for gorgeous portraits and group shots! Drinks and nibbles next and then we went to the gardens! The rain was on and off but still allowed us some beautiful light and dancing shadows in the gardens. After some Mary Poppins antics, we left for the pub! Now my favourite pint is a Guinness and it’s said the best Guinness in Norwich is served in the Temple Bar so we went there!! They’re not wrong, that’s a good Guinness!
Guinness done with we all went back to the GTH for fun and games and some damn fine speeches! Great effort all round. Garden games galore and happiness surrounding everyone I had a blast shooting all sorts of people doing all sorts of things! Perfect wedding atmosphere! The band, The Claire Barker Band kicked off and it was first dance time, a surprise confetti canon and some awesome tunes later and I took A+C outside for sparkler madness and boy was it madness! The night went on with the most fun being had, a pro band being replaced by an Irish tribute with blow-up instruments. I honestly had an absolute blast! Aoife and Conor and your extraordinary family, thank you! Go raibh maith agat!
They had a Catapilla Bride and Groom cake too! Just Sayin’ how awesome!
Get your eyes on this wedding and show them some love in the comments xx
